Dialogue with Youth on New Normal Lifestyle and Early Marriage Prevention

   Dialogue with Youth on Early Marriage Prevention and New Normal Lifestyle was organized in Ban Mae La Temporary Shelter in Tak Province on March 16 and 17, 2022. There were 25 youth of 19 females and 6 males attending.

   The event was aimed to convince children and youth of present situation in which a number of youth under the age of 18 years leaving school to get married and pregnant. Many couples later fall apart because of immaturity and other factors such as lack of understanding, no responsibility of family members. This caused the negative impact on children and youth.

   In addition, the pandemic made their problems worse as it caused social, economic and health effects. For youth in school, long school holidays made them having too much time but could do nothing due to social and physical distancing during the pandemic.

   Therefore, COERR deemed it necessary to have a Dialogue with Youth to provide advice on the prevention of early marriage and unwanted pregnancy as well as new normal lifestyle.

   In addition, the pandemic made their problems worse as it caused social, economic and health effects. For youth in school, long school holidays made them having too much time but could do nothing due to social and physical distancing during the pandemic.

   It was also a benefit for youth to realize that there were organizations or focal persons that the youths could seek advice. There were also proper activities available for them to join in the safe and new normal environment.
